NUMC OPENS EXPANDED CHILD AND ADOLESCENT INPATIENT PSYCHIATRIC UNIT

Arthur Gianelli, President/CEO of the Nassau Health Care Corporation (at podium) announces the opening of the essential and expanded Nassau University Medical Center Child and Adolescent Inpatient Psychiatric Services totaling 22 beds, specializing in the treatment of severely emotionally disturbed children and adolescents from 4 through 17 years of age who are in need of inpatient psychiatric level of care. It is the only acute inpatient psychiatric program in Nassau County. It is a much needed and vital service because families who are in crisis are able to access emergency psychiatric treatment 24 hours a day, seven days a week throughout the year including holidays in the only dedicated acute psychiatric emergency room in Nassau County.
