Graduate Medical Education

Welcome to Graduate Medical Education (GME) at NuHealth, a program dedicated to helping you become a mature, competent, compassionate physician.

The GME curriculum is dynamic and responsive to each resident’s needs and it supports personal growth and autonomy. We seek residents from all backgrounds who approach training with enthusiasm and a dedication to excellence. In turn, we are committed to providing superb training for each of our residents in a supportive and respectful atmosphere. Our exceptional facilities and clinical resources make this possible.

NuHealth is centered on Nassau University Medical Center — a nationally accredited, community teaching hospital in Nassau County, Long Island, less than 30 miles east of Manhattan. We are a 1,200-bed health care system that includes the 530-bed tertiary care teaching hospital and trauma center, a 589-bed skilled nursing facility and a network of Family Health Centers that bring care out into the community. Our large facilities and sizeable teaching faculty, along with our affiliation with one of the U.S.’s largest health care organizations, the North Shore-LIJ Health System, permit us to provide the highest standards of quality in both education and patient care.

We appreciate your interest in us, and we hope you will take the time to learn more about the outstanding opportunities we offer. We wish you the best as you choose your graduate medical education program.
