NASSAU UNIVERSITY MEDICAL CENTER SEEKS VOLUNTEERS
East Meadow, NY……Are you willing to give some of your time in service to those in need? If the answer is yes, Nassau University Medical Center (NUMC) needs you to volunteer a few hours each week to benefit our patients and visitors.
The volunteer department at NUMC oversees hundreds of volunteers and junior volunteers, who perform many rewarding duties. Volunteers make a real difference because they become an integral part of the NUMC family through a carefully designed program of service that allows them to perform many hours of assistance in selected areas. Every volunteer is an important member of the NUMC health care team. Everything they do benefits the patients, visitors and staff at our hospital.
Anyone interested in volunteering at NUMC should be 14 years of age or older. A physical is required prior to acceptance. Volunteers must make a commitment to come in at least four hours per week. Although they will be placed according to need, the volunteer department makes an effort to match volunteers’ interests and skills with their assigned jobs. Bilingual volunteers are welcome to apply to become a volunteer.
