NASSAU HEALTH CARE CORPORATION BOARD OF DIRECTORS APPROVES LOCATION OF COMMUNITY HEALTH CENTER, INSTITUTE FOR HEALTH CARE DISPARITIES AND IMAGING CENTER AT 380 NASSAU RD., ROOSEVELT

–Will serve as catalyst for improved health care and economic development in Roosevelt—
–First of many important announcements addressing health care disparities —

East Meadow, NY…Arthur A. Gianelli, president/CEO of the Nassau Health Care Corporation (NHCC) today announced that the board of directors approved a lease agreement for the building located at 380 Nassau Road in Roosevelt for the relocation of the existing Freeport/Roosevelt Community Health Center, the establishment of the Institute for Health Care Disparities and the creation of an Imaging Center.

“It is a great location in the heart of Roosevelt, becoming a beacon in an economically depressed area and serving to revitalize the Roosevelt Community. 380 Nassau Road will be a catalyst for improved health care and for economic development for Roosevelt”, said Mr. Gianelli “The Community Health Center, the Institute for Health Care Disparities and the Imaging Center will serve as the centerpiece of the NHCC’s efforts to reform and revitalize our health care efforts on behalf of the underserved communities and will be the first of many important announcements addressing health care disparities,” continued Mr. Gianelli.

While plans had been announced in October 2005 to relocate the Freeport/Roosevelt Health Center across the street on North Main Street in Freeport, the bids for construction exceeded the expected costs and the 380 Nassau Road, Roosevelt building became a preferable location to house the Community Health Center, the Institute for Health Care Disparities and the Imaging Center. The NHCC will enter into a seven year lease with an option to purchase at the end of the lease. The 380 Nassau Road building in Roosevelt consists of 24,000 square feet, approximately a half a mile east from the existing Freeport/Roosevelt Community Health Center and easily accessible by public transportation

The NHCC officials had worked with Reverend Reginald Tuggle, president of the Memorial Economic Development Corporation and obtained his support in fulfilling the NHCC’s goal to provide a new state-of-the-art community health center for the benefit of the residents of the surrounding communities, giving them access to services in a superior standard-setting accommodations: “The Memorial Economic Development Corporation has worked hard for more than eleven years to establish a state of the art community health clinic where patients can receive quality health care in a location and setting that uplifts the spirit and augments in the healing process. The site at 380 Nassau Road is centrally located and the clinic and work environment will be a wonderful ambiance for the delivery health care for patients and health professionals. I commend the leadership of the Nassau Health Care Corporation president Art Gianelli and the board of directors for their unequivocal commitment to providing quality health care for all people at the local level.” said Reverend Reginald Tuggle, President Memorial Economic Development Corporation.

Mr. Gianelli went on the say that “The Freeport-Roosevelt Health Center has long been in need of replacement. This investment in the health care needs of the community is an essential effort to address the disparities in health care affecting minority residents of Nassau County.
