LARRY I. SLATKY, SENIOR VP NASSAU HEALTH CARE CORPORATION, RE-ELECTED CHAIR OF AMERICAN COLLEGE OF HEALTH CARE ADMINISTRATORS

Larry I.Slatky, Senior Vice President, Nassau Health Care Corporation, was re-elected Chair of the 2,500 member American College of Health Care Administrators (ACHCA), the nation’s leading professional society of long-term care administrators, at ACHCA’s Annual Convocation & Exposition held in Charlotte, NC, April 14-17, 2007.

As a health care administrator, Slatky specializes in nursing home and hospital operations, labor management, construction projects and funding. He is Senior Vice President of the A. Holly Patterson Extended Care Facility in Uniondale, New York. For nearly forty years he has operated and at times owned nursing homes in the States of New York and New Jersey.

In addition, Slatky has received two national ACHCA awards for his service: the Chair’s Award and the Ross Laboratories Award for Distinguished Service to ACHCA.  He has also been honored with the New York Chapter President’s Award.   Slatky is a Certified Master Fellow of ACHCA, the highest professional designation in the organization.

Slatky is also active and holds key posts in other health related organizations including the New York State Health Facilities Association, the American College of Healthcare Executives, the American Academy of Medical Administrators and the New York Association for Homes and Services of the Aging. In addition, he has held leadership posts with community groups such as the MS Society, 1 in 9 The Long Island Breast Cancer Action Coalition and the Epilepsy Foundation of Long Island.

Founded in 1962, the American College of Health Care Administrators (ACHCA) is the only professional association devoted solely to meeting the professional needs of today’s long-term care administrators.
