NUMC’S MEMORIAL PEACE GARDEN

Nassau University Medical Center recently celebrated National Pastoral Care Week with the creation of a Memorial Peace Garden dedicated to the memory of NHCC Community’s loved ones and those who died on 9-11-01.  The Peace Pole within the Garden was donated by NUMC’s Kiwanis Club and is inscribed with the words, “May Peace Prevail on Earth” in English, Spanish, French Creole, and American Sign Language.

In dedicating the sign, Sister maureen said: “We are dedicating this garden in memory of NHCC’s loved ones and those who perished on September 11th. The inscriptions represent NHCC’s mission of providing for the health care needs of L.I.’s culturally diverse population.” On November 20th, Sister Maureen Chase, O.P., Director of NUMC’s Pastoral Care Dept., along with members of the Pastoral Care Team offered the blessing.
