The Nassau Health Care Corporation
is a 1,200-bed health care system, which includes a 530
bed tertiary care teaching hospital, an 589-bed skilled
nursing facility and 7 community health centers. For more
than 65 years, the Medical Center, which is affiliated
with the North Shore-LIJ Health System and the Health
Sciences Center of the State University of New York at
Stony Brook, has maintained a strong commitment to medical
education and has offered a proud tradition of service
and caring to the people of Long Island. Today its staff
of approximately 3500 treats more than 75,000 persons
annually in the NUMC Emergency Department, and more than
200,000 in over 80 specialized clinics. |
