East Meadow, NY………Victor F. Politi, MD, FACP, FACEP, NuHealth/NUMC’s President/CEO, announces that pediatric patients at Nassau University Medical Center (NUMC) will get a big Red Nose along with compassionate care on Thursday, May 25 at 9:30AM in the pediatric division of the NUMC Primary Care Center. In support of the annual Red Nose Day campaign to end child poverty, the NuHealth NUMC Delivery System Reform Incentive Payment (DSRIP) and Nassau Health Care Foundation (NHCF) teams have donated 500 Red Noses to NUMC’s youngest visitors.

Red Nose Day was founded in 1988 in the U.K. by the non-profit organization Comic Relief Inc. and has raised over $1 billion globally. The U.S. Red Nose Day, launched in 2015 with Walgreens as the exclusive retailer, has provided more than $60 million to keep children in need safe, healthy and educated.

NUMC DSRIP and NHCF will distribute the red noses in the new NUMC Primary Care Center. This state-of-the-art comprehensive medical facility offers a private office model focusing on Women’s Health, Pediatric and Adolescent Health, and Adult Medicine. The Primary Care Center provides urgent as well as specialty care by board-certified physicians, bilingual patient navigators, and easy access to laboratory and radiological services.

“Red Nose Day is one of many NUMC DSRIP programs that educate residents of all ages about the importance of preventive and primary care,” said Dr. Politi. “The NUMC DSRIP team helps connect patients with the appropriate support including skilled NUMC physicians, patient coaches and other clinical resources.”
