NASSAU UNIVERSITY MEDICAL CENTER’S KENNETH H. HUPART, MD, NAMED ONE OF THE NEW YORK AREA’S BEST DOCTORS IN BEST DOCTORS IN AMERICA 2007-2008 DATABASE

East Meadow, NY….Kenneth H. Hupart, MD, NUMC’s chief of endocrinology, diabetes and metabolism in the department of medicine at Nassau University Medical Center, has been named one of the New York area’s Best Doctors, as published in the Best Doctors in America 2007-2008 database.

According to Best Doctors, the selection process was a yearlong process, with questionnaires sent to thousands of top physicians in the New York area.  Nominees were sought in almost every specialty, with the emphasis on direct patient care.  Dr. Hupart specializes in thyroid disorders, osteoporosis, diabetes and lipid disorders.

Dr. Hupart joined the faculty of NUMC in March 2003.  Dr. Hupart also leads the endocrine, diabetes and thyroid biopsy clinics and is the chief of the new metabolic bone and osteoporosis clinic.  Prior to joining NUMC, Dr. Hupart served as the medical director of the outpatient department at Montefiore Medical Center in Bronx, NY.  He was a member of the faculty of endocrinology at the Albert Einstein College of Medicine where he was an associate professor of clinical medicine.  Dr. Hupart has published original laboratory and clinical research in the field of thyroidology and has also written about medical education.

An active member of the Endocrine Society and the American Thyroid Association, Dr. Hupart serves on committees of these national organizations.

Dr. Hupart received his undergraduate education at the School of Engineering and Applied Science at Columbia University and was awarded his Doctor of Medicine degree from the State University of New York at Stony Brook in 1982. He completed his training in internal medicine at Montefiore Medical Center and then served as chief resident in medicine.  Dr. Hupart remained at Montefiore and the Albert Einstein College of Medicine for his training in endocrinology and was appointed to the faculty at the completion of his training.
