MICHAEL B. MIROTZNIK, ESQ. APPOINTED AS CHAIRMAN OF THE NUHEALTH BOARD OF DIRECTORS
East Meadow, NY…..Victor F. Politi, MD, FACP, FACEP, President/CEO of the NuHealth System, announced that Nassau County Executive Edward P. Mangano, exercising his rights under the Nassau Health Care Corporation’s enabling statute, has elected to appoint Michael B. Mirotznik as Chairman of the NHCC (NuHealth) Board of Directors. Mr. Mirotznik replaces Craig V. Rizzo, Esq. who had served as chair of the board during the last four years and resigned on March —2014.
Nassau County Executive Mangano stated: “Michael’s experience and enthusiasm to serve will bring a fresh perspective to the board.”
Dr Politi added: “We welcome Mr. Mirotznik as Chair of the Board and look forward to working with him and the board to help further our mission of providing quality health care to Nassau’s residents and improve the fiscal challenges of our health system. He has deep roots in the East Meadow community and his experience and enthusiasm will serve him well during this transformative era in health care delivery. I have no doubt that he will continue the path that Mr. Rizzo had set for the NuHealth System.
Mr. Mirotznik graduated from Brooklyn Law School in 1991 and had obtained his undergraduate degree from New York University in 1987. A partner in the general law practice of Mirotznik and Associates, LLC, in East Meadow, Mr. Mirotznik specializes in all phases of civil, criminal and medical malpractice litigation. His professional court admissions include the Bar of the State of New York, the U.S. District Court and the U.S. Supreme Court.
Active in numerous professional organizations, he serves as the current 1st vice president of the Jewish Lawyers Association of Nassau County and a past president of the Nassau Lawyers Association of L.I. Mr. Mirotznik, who grew up in East Meadow, now resides in South Bellmore with his wife and two children.
Mr. Mirotznik indicated that “It is an honor and privilege to serve as Chairman of the NuHealth Board of Directors. I am excited to join the talented leadership and believe that, working together with the board and the administration, we can make a difference in advancing the mission and ensuring fiscal stability.”
