VICTOR POLITI, MD, UNANIMOUSLY SELECTED BY NUHEALTH BOARD OF DIRECTORS AS PRESIDENT/CEO
East Meadow, NY……..Craig V. Rizzo, Esq. Chairman of the NuHealth Board of Directors, issued a statement that after an extensive search and due deliberation, the board is pleased to announce that its unanimous selection as President/CEO of the Nassau Health Care Corporation is Victor Politi, MD. Dr. Politi is exceptionally qualified for this position. Dr. Politi is a Nassau County resident with deep community ties and over twenty years of health care experience. His multi-faceted background makes him the perfect candidate to bring NHCC out of its financial struggles and into a profitable institution.
In health care, Dr. Politi has served as the director of emergency medicine of St. John’s Queens Hospital, where he was also President of the medical staff. He has served as medical director/executive vice president at Cornerstone Arts Center Hospital. Dr. Politi has served as a Nassau County Police Surgeon, as Deputy Nassau County Executive of Public Safety where he oversaw the Nassau County Department of Health and the Nassau County Medical Examiner’s Office. He is an attending physician right here at the Nassau University Medical Center, which provides him with a deep relationship to our medical staff and medical needs of Nassau County residents. He currently serves as the Interim Nassau County Police Commissioner.
Therefore, his past experience not only involves health care and administration, but government, finance and labor.
Many candidates interviewed had one or more of those attributes, but Dr. Politi clearly had them all. Finally, most of all, he has a strong connection and passion to this institution and the Nassau County community at large. We therefore, are fortunate to welcome Dr. Victor Politi as our new CEO.
Dr. Politi’s Statement:
“I thank the Board of Directors for their full support and confidence in my appointment. There is much work to do at NuHealth and I look forward to partnering with the Board, medical and nursing staff, and hospital workers,” stated Dr. Politi. “In the coming days, I will ask the Board to approve a thorough, forensic audit so that we can begin to better address the hospital’s struggling finances. Together, we will put the hospital on a path to success that benefits our patients and health care workers alike.”
