STATEMENT CONCERNING OXYGEN TANK REPLACEMENT

East Meadow, NY…The oxygen tank was being replaced on the south eastern side of the NUMC campus. While working on the replacement, one of the valves broke, causing liquid oxygen to be discharged. We called the East Meadow Fire Department to assist us in handling the situation. The situation is under control as the leaking valve is being repaired. We are not on diversion and there is no need to evacuate. There is no danger to patients, employees or visitors.
