ROGER SIMPSON, MD, FACS, INVITED TO PRESENT AT ANNUAL MEETING OF THE AMERICAN SOCIETY FOR SURGERY OF THE HAND
EAST MEADOW, NY…Roger Simpson, MD, FACS, director of the burn center at the Nassau University Medical Center and a board-certified plastic surgeon at the Long Island Plastic Surgical Group, has been invited to speak and present an Instructional Course on the Management of the Burned Hand in Adults and Children at the annual meeting of the American Society for Surgery of the Hand in Las Vegas, Nevada on September 8, 2011, with a second national presentation to follow at a later date.
According to Dr. Simpson, “The American Society for Surgery of the Hand is the major national society for hand surgeons in the US and abroad. Each year it meets to disseminate the latest innovations and outcomes in hand and upper extremity surgery. Attended by surgeons from throughout the world this instructional course is the only one dealing with burn reconstruction of the hand. This opportunity represents the hard work of the members of the staff of our burn center. We are thrilled to be able to contribute to this national event.”
The pre-eminent mission of the American Society for Surgery of the Hand (ASSH) is to provide state-of-the-art continuing medical education in the field of hand and upper extremity surgery. The expected results of the ASSH Educational program are to provide hand surgeons and other health care professionals with educational programs that improve their current clinical knowledge and enhance patient care by improving competence, performance, or patient outcomes.
