ROBERT A. BENRUBI, COUNSEL TO THE CEO OF THE NUHEALTH SYSTEM, WILL BE A GUEST SPEAKER AND PANELIST AT THE 2010 SMART GROWTH SUMMIT ON
FRIDAY NOVEMBER 19, 2010
East Meadow, NY… Robert. A. Benrubi, counsel to the CEO of the NuHealth System, will be a guest speaker and panelist at the 2010 Smart Growth Summit. Benrubi will sit on the panel for “Health Care and Land Use: Transforming real estate development”. The conference will be held on Friday, November 19, 2010 at the Melville Marriott in Melville, New York.
The “Health Care and Land Use: Transforming Real Estate Development,” section of the conference will focus on how Healthcare will look in the decades to come. The Healthcare market is in a fluid transformation being impacted by demographics and political influences. The healthcare industry constitutes nearly 16% of the country’s gross national product, and as Long Island’s population continues to age and grow, the industry will continue to produce jobs and economic growth for Long Island’s communities. A high-quality and well-sited healthcare system will be essential for Long Island’s future needs. Hospitals and other medical institutions, when designed in accordance with the principles of Smart Growth development, can be important assets for community growth and renewal. The workshop will address the healthcare industry’s real estate prospects on Long Island and the role of healthcare professionals in ongoing debates on Long Island’s future.
“I am honored to have been selected to speak at the 2010 Smart Growth Summit. This opportunity will allow me to share my knowledge of real estate development particularly, within the NuHealth System. I look forward to sharing and receiving insights on how to strengthen communities and expand real estate development within our local health care systems,” said Benrubi.
The 2010 Smart Growth Summit is hosted by Vision Long Island which joins with others to promote more liveable, economically sustainable and environmentally responsible growth on Long Island through Smart Growth. Smart Growth focuses on infill, re-development and open space preservation. It supports mixed-use, mixed-income communities that are convenient, attractive, pedestrian-friendly and make affordable housing and public transportation desirable and realistic. A key objective is to strengthen communities from the start by actively involving local stakeholders in planning.
