NUMC’S PEDIATRICS DEPARTMENT, A RECIPIENT OF THE EAST MEADOW CHAMBER OF COMMERCE CULINARY DELIGHTS FUNDRAISER, RECEIVES AN ADDITIONAL CHECK FOR $9000. TO PURCHASE VEIN FINDER TO BENEFIT PATIENTS
East Meadow, NY……Nassau University Medical Center’s Pediatrics Department, has been named as one of the recipients of the East Meadow Chamber of Commerce Culinary Delights Fundraiser. The annual fundraiser, attended by over four hundred persons, was held at the Mirage Nightclub on Merrick Avenue in Westbury last October, highlighting local restaurants, bakeries, confectioners, and beverage facilities. It provided an opportunity to sample cuisines and drinks from numerous local establishments while at the same time raising funds for worthwhile organizations devoted to caring for children.
The East Meadow Chamber of Commerce presented a $9000 check in addition to a $13,000 check presented a year earlier to help purchase a vein finder piece of equipment to be used in the pediatrics unit at the Nassau University Medical Center.
Arthur A. Gianelli, President/CEO of the Nassau Health Care Corporation expressed his gratitude on behalf of the hospital to the hundreds of supporters of the Culinary Delights fundraiser: “The overwhelming support of the community helped to create the excitement that prompted almost five hundred persons to attend the East Meadow Chamber of Commerce fundraiser to benefit the pediatrics department at NUMC. I want to thank all the members of the Chamber of Commerce as well as over one hundred Nassau Health Care Corporation employees for supporting this fundraiser. Your support means a great deal to the hospital, patients and all our employees.”
