NUMC’S PEDIATRICS DEPARTMENT, A RECIPIENT OF EAST MEADOW CHAMBER OF COMMERCE CULINARY DELIGHTS FUNDRAISER, RECEIVES $13,000. CHECK TO PURCHASE VEIN FINDER TO BENEFIT PATIENTS
Nassau University Medical Center’s Pediatrics Department, under the chairmanship of Harvey Aiges, MD, has been named as one of the recipients of the East Meadow Chamber of Commerce Culinary Delights Fundraiser. The annual fundraiser, held at the Mirage Nightclub on Merrick Avenue in Westbury on Monday September 24th at 6:00PM, highlights local restaurants, bakeries, confectioners, and beverages. It provided an opportunity to sample cuisines and drinks from numerous local establishments while at the same time raising funds for worthwhile organizations devoted to caring for children.
The East Meadow Chamber of Commerce presented a $13,000. check to help pay for a vein finder piece of equipment to be used in the pediatrics unit at Nassau University Medical Center. Arthur A. Gianelli, President/CEO of the Nassau Health Care Corporation expressed his gratitude on behalf of the hospital to the hundreds of supporters of the Culinary Delights fundraiser: “The overwhelming support of the community helped to create the excitement that prompted almost five hundred persons to attend the East Meadow Chamber of Commerce fundraiser to benefit the pediatrics department at NUMC. I want to thank all the members of the Chamber of Commerce for supporting this fundraiser. Your support means a great deal to the hospital, patients and all our employees.”
