East Meadow, NY…Arthur A. Gianelli, President/CEO of the NuHealth System, proudly announced that the Nassau University Medical Center’s department of ophthalmology residency program has been awarded a three year accreditation as the result of a recent review by the Accreditation Council for Graduate Medical Education (ACGME) Residency Review Committee (RRC) for ophthalmology. The accreditation will run from May 12, 2011 to May 1, 2013.
“We extend our congratulations to the department of ophthalmology, under the leadership of Marcelle Morcos, MD, FACS, for receiving three year accreditation for the residency program. Dr. Morcos added: “I join Mr. Gianelli in commending the staff of the ophthalmology department on their achievement. Accreditation is awarded only to facilities meeting the RRC standards.
