NUMC’S MULTZ NAMED TO NEW YORK MAGAZINE’S 2014 ‘BEST DOCTORS’ LIST
East Meadow — Dr. Alan S. Multz, chairman of the Department of Medicine at Nassau University Medical Center in East Meadow, has been included in this year’s “Best Doctors in New York” list published by New York Magazine.
Castle Connolly Medical Ltd., publishes an annual guidebook titled “Top Doctors: New York Metro Area” which lists those whom they considers among the 10% of the region’s physicians—6448 in all. Out of the 6448 Top Doctors, a total of 1,251 physicians were selected for this list, compiled for New York Magazine by Castle Connolly Medical Ltd., a Manhattan-based research and information company.
The selections are based on a peer-review survey. Participating physicians are asked to nominate those doctors who they believe are the best in their field. Castle Connolly then tabulates the results and vets the nominee pool, confirming the doctors’ certifications and licensing, and investigating their disciplinary histories.
Dr. Multz earned his medical degree from Boston University and completed an internship, residency, and fellowships at Montefiore Medical Center/Albert Einstein College of Medicine. His research interests include the treatment of severe sepsis and early septic shock, and severe hypertension.
