NUMC’s Linda Reschke, Recipient of IPRO/ESRD Network of New York Quality Award along with NUMC Dialysis Unit Recognized for Excellent Data Compliance Performance in 2014.

East Meadow, NY……….Victor F. Politi, MD, FACP, FACEP, NuHealth’s President/CEO, announces that the Nassau University Medical Center Dialysis Unit is being recognized by IPRO for its Excellent Compliance Performance in 2014, along with Linda Reschke, Clerk III, who will be receiving a CrownWeb Champions All Star Award for the excellent work on quality compliance provided by her.

“We are proud that both the NUMC Dialysis Unit and Linda Reschke will be honored by IPRO ESRD at its upcoming annual meeting where our facility’s excellent work and Linda’s diligent efforts on quality compliance will be recognized for consistently achieving significant quality-focused goals, all to better serve our patients,” stated Dr. Politi.

In a recent letter, Susan Caponi, CEO of IPRO ESRD Programs, congratulated Linda Reschke of the NUMC Dialysis Unit and the NUMC Dialysis Unit staff: “It is my pleasure to congratulate you for being selected as one of this year’s recipient of the IPRO ESRD Network of New York Quality Award. These awards are presented annually to New York State ESRD care providers that have achieved significant quality-focused goals. NUMC will be recognized at the upcoming IPRO ESRD Network of New York Annual Meeting for Excellent Data Compliance Performance in 2014, especially in on-time PART Verification throughout the year to date.”

The NUMC Dialysis Unit, located on the campus of the A. Holly Patterson Extended Care Facility, is required to enter data monthly into the CMS computer system called Crown Web on all their dialysis patients.  The CMS system collects national data that CMS uses for current payment as well as drives future reimbursement.  Additionally, this system is part of the CMS National Quality Assurance Program Initiative that tracks several clinical measures on each patient and is used to develop best practices across the country.  All dialysis facilities are required to submit this data on the National CMS Crown Web system.

“The CMS Crown Web system has been in place for about 6 or 7 years now.  Since the beginning, Nassau University Medical Center Dialysis was selected as one of the beta sites when they first started to roll out this data base. It was a multi-year roll out system that is now fully operational.   It is very time consuming to enter the data manually on each patient which Linda does with meticulous precision, hence the award for both the facility and personally for Linda regarding Excellent Data Compliance Performance in 2014,” stated Maureen Hutcheon, Dialysis Administrator.

Both awards will be presented on June 25, 2014 at the Garden City Hotel.
