East Meadow, NY… Grace Ting, MD, associate director for the department of emergency medicine at the Nassau University Medical Center, will be a guest panelist for the Women of Purpose Ministry’s, “The Faith Community Meets Domestic Violence” forum on Saturday April 16, 2011 from 8:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m., at the First Baptist Cathedral in Westbury.
Dr. Ting will be participating on an open panel discussion in which she will speak regarding the issue of domestic violence as well as how NUMC assists domestic violence victims. Dr. Ting will be joined by community leaders, agency heads and experts in the field of domestic violence. Councilwoman Viviana Russell will be the keynote speaker and guest preacher Reverend Cynthia McCants from the New Gethsemane Baptist Church in Brooklyn.
“I am honored to have been invited to participate on the Women of Purpose Ministry’s, domestic violence informational panel. One in every four woman will experience some form domestic violence in their lifetime, this is why education on this issue is extremely important to the people of Nassau County. The NUMC emergency department plays a vital role in assisting domestic violence victims. I encourage individuals in the community to attend this free open panel discussion to further educate themselves and those around them,” said Dr. Ting.
