NUMC’S DR. GILBERTE ROSARION, CREATES ORGANIZATION TO PROVIDE SCHOLARSHIPS AND TO COMBAT SEXUAL VIOLENCE IN HAITI
East Meadow, NY………GIlberte Rosarion, MD, one of Nassau University Medical Center’s emergency department attending physicians, recently visited Gonaives, Haiti, to meet with the eleven children who had received scholarships from her organization, Eye of a Dream. Dr. Rosarion deals with traumas and all types of emergent care needed by many Long Island residents on a daily basis at NUMC, and is devoted, in her spare time, to supporting the very worthwhile organization, Eye of a Dream.
Last year, Dr. Rosarion set out with a mission to advance education and to combat sexual violence in Haiti, by creating the not-for-profit organization called Eye of a Dream, based in New York, and represented in Gonaives, Haiti, at L’Ecole Presbyterale de St Francois D’Assises. Eye of a Dream invests 100% of the funds pledged, in changing the lives of needy children in Gonaives, both through paying for formal education and bringing solutions to issues of domestic and sexual violence.
“I am honored to have been instrumental in creating Eye of a Dream, presenting children from the age of twelve to eighteen, with an opportunity to obtain an education that they would otherwise not be able to afford. Schools are like sanctuaries, shielding children from the chaos and perils occurring in Haiti,” said Dr. Rosarion during her most recent trip to see first-hand the results of her vision to help children in Haiti. “My dream, to help educate needy children and to bring solutions to the very challenging issues of domestic and sexual abuse in Haiti, is becoming a reality, thanks to the many wonderful benefactors, whose generous donations are pledging to support Eye of a Dream.
