NUMC OPENS FULLY RENOVATED AMPHITHEATER, WITH LATEST TECHNOLOGY OF MODERN TEACHING TOOLS
DR. WALERSTEIN TO PROVIDE FIRST LECTURE: “NUHEALTH: 2011 AND BEYOND- THE PERSPECTIVE OF THE MEDICAL DIRECTOR”
WHAT: NuHealth officials, along with physicians, residents and medical students will re-open the amphitheater at the Nassau University Medical Center, following the completion of a full renovation, including all modern teaching tools for a significant upgrade of the audio-visual capacity, redesign and replacement of seating, wall coverings and carpets. The upgrades also include computer and electrical connections at each of the 142 seats, the installation of a smartboard, new video equipment, wired desks and an interactive response system that allows the presenter to ask questions and receive electronic answers back from the audience.

WHY: NUMC officials noted that the renovations were undertaken thanks to the relationship forged with the American University of the Caribbean that provided the $700,000 funding. Dr. Walerstein, the architect of the relationship with AUC, will have the honor of providing our hundreds of physicians, residents and medical students with the first lecture entitled: “NuHealth: 2011 and Beyond- The Perspective of the Medical Director.”
