EAST MEADOW, NY…Arthur A. Gianelli, President/CEO of the NuHealth System, proudly announced that the A. In a letter dated March 20, 2012, Timothy C. Dressman, CNHA, CALA, FACHCA, chair of the ACHCA board of directors, stated: “Congratulations! Your skilled nursing facility has been identified as a top performing organization in long term care. The ACHCA through its Facility Leadership Award recognizes leadership excellence and is proud to offer positive recognition to leaders of the best performing organizations across the country. The leadership award to both nursing home executives will be presented at ACHCA’s 46th Annual Convocation and Exposition on May 4th to 8th in Nashville.”

Gianelli joined his congratulations to the leadership and staff of the AHP for demonstrating clinical achievement, good service, and compliance excellence: “Congratulations to everyone at AHP for this exceptional achievement that speaks to the continued high quality of care provided by the nursing home staff and for the success of the overall turnaround strategy. Facility excellence is a reflection of leadership excellence and the Facility Leadership Award to be presented to Slatky and Restaino confirms this well deserved recognition. “

The American College of Health Care Administrators, utilizing a data and information company, analyzes publically available MDS Quality Measures data, Survey data for the last three years, specifically, Health Survey, Life Safety Survey, and Complaint Surveys.  Based on this analysis, the top-performing skilled nursing facilities are identified.  The Administrator accepts the award on behalf of their facility at the ACHCA’s Annual Convocation.

For 2012, CMS’s MDS quality indicators (QM) and three years of survey data were key sources for identifying AHP as a top performing skilled nursing facility. The areas of excellence that AHP exhibits includes three years of performance on the Health Survey, Fire (Life Safety) Survey, Complaint Surveys and improvement in the last two quarters of the reported CMS MDS Quality Measures.
