East Meadow, NY, May 12, 2016—Warren Zysman, member of the NuHealth/NUMC Board of Directors, was recently honored at the United Hospital Fund (UHF) Tribute, as the organization honored 28 trustees from hospitals throughout the greater New York region with its Distinguished Trustee Award. The honorees were recognized at a luncheon at the Waldorf Astoria Hotel for their leadership and extraordinary service to hospitals in New York City’s five boroughs, Long Island, the Hudson Valley, and close-by Connecticut and New Jersey.
This is the 26th year UHF has presented Distinguished Trustee Awards. The trustees were nominated by their respective institutions, which include community hospitals, academic medical centers and health systems, and public hospitals. Among the award recipients are prominent leaders in finance, law, business, real estate, advertising, health care, public service, religion, philanthropy, and entertainment.
“Congratulations to Warren Zysman on receiving the UHF Distinguished Trustee Award. It is a well deserved recognition that attests and speaks to Mr. Zysman’s commitment to the mission of our health care system, stated Michael Mirotznik, Esq., Chair of the NuHealth/NUMC Board of Directors and Dr. Victor Politi, NuHealth/NUMC’s President/CEO.
UHF President Jim Tallon, Event Co-Chairman Steven Hochberg, and UHF Chairman J. Barclay Collins II recognized the 28 Distinguished Trustees honored at the event, before a crowd of more than 600 colleagues, family, and friends.
“As our health care system undergoes significant transformation, hospital trustees are playing a vital role, bringing a wealth of skills, knowledge, and other resources to bear,” said UHF President Jim Tallon. “For the hours and hours they serve, for the deep loyalty and caring they demonstrate towards their hospitals and communities, and for helping with a broad range of short- and long-term challenges, we at United Hospital Fund are privileged to have this opportunity to celebrate and thank these extraordinary voluntary leaders.”
Mr. Zysman stated: I am honored and humbled to have been recognized by the UHF as one of their 28 Distinguished Hospital Trustees. I look forward to continuing our board’s long tradition of ensuring quality and safe care to Nassau’s vulnerable populations.”
