NUHEALTH TO PARTICIPATE IN WESTBURY GOSPEL TABERNACLE COMMUNITY HEALTH FAIR ON JUNE 9TH
East Meadow, NY….Arthur A. Gianelli, President/CEO of the NuHealth System, announces that the Nassau University Medical Center has been invited by the Westbury Gospel Tabernacle Church to participate in a community health fair, scheduled for Saturday, June 9th, 2012 from 10AM until 2PM at 979 Prospect Avenue, Westbury. NUMC clinical staff will be providing various health screenings and educational information on diabetes, heart failure, breast health, stroke, colonoscopy and endoscopy to help Westbury residents learn how to lead healthier lives.
“We are delighted to join the members of the Westbury Gospel Tabernacle and provide important preventive health information along with blood pressure screening and other health screenings that can help to manage chronic illness such as diabetes and metabolic disorders. In addition, our cardiologist will provide early detection tips for heart disease, along with discussion by other NUMC clinicians on the importance of colonoscopy, endoscopy and symptoms of stroke disease,” stated Gianelli. “We urge the residents of Westbury to avail themselves of these varied free health screenings and valuable information.”
Along with the screenings and educational information provided by NUMC clinicians, other organizations will provide HIV, vision and hearing screenings. There will be free giveaways and activities for children. For additional information, please call the NUMC public affairs office at 516-572-6055 or church member and NUMC nurse Elizabeth Samuel at the church office at 516-333-9144.
