NUHEALTH SYSTEM TO HOST
“2010 HEROES IN HEALTH GALA”
THURSDAY, OCTOBER 21, 2010 6:30PM, OHEKA CASTLE
East Meadow, NY….. The Long Island Medical Foundation (LIMF), the philanthropic arm of the NuHealth System will be hosting its annual “Heroes in Health Gala” on Thursday, October 21, 2010 at Oheka Castle in Huntington, New York.
The Foundation’s mission is to inspire philanthropic support by raising awareness for the critical role the NuHealth System plays on Long Island, delivering quality care through a robust healthcare network that includes Nassau University Medical Center (NUMC), A. Holly Patterson Extended Care, and a network of community-based Family Health Centers.
NuHealth System President/CEO, Art Gianelli says, “There is so much more to the NuHealth story than people may know. We deliver high quality, comprehensive healthcare in a variety of innovative ways to tens of thousands of patients each year, from all walks of life. It is essential that NuHealth, like major health systems in other regions, enjoy the support of its community in order for it to continue to serve its needs.”
Many of NuHealth’s recent innovations and successes will be highlighted at this year’s Heroes in Health gala, including its new state-of- the-art digital mammography program, the Zaki Hossain Burn Unit, a comprehensive-care Diabetes clinic and a cutting edge Emergency Room, which is under construction to be unveiled in 2011.
LIMF executive director Deidra Parrish Williams notes that, “Many of these important projects are being made possible because of the support of generous individuals, businesses and others who understand how critical it for NuHealth to thrive.”
This year’s gala honoree will be Health Care REIT, Inc., selected because of it belief in and commitment to giving back to the communities they serve. “As philanthropy assumes a greater institutional priority and becomes more ingrained in the culture of the NuHealth System, we wanted to recognize and honor leadership that both values and demonstrates corporate social responsibility in its many forms,” said Gianelli.
Tickets are $400 per person, with sponsorship packages and advertising opportunities available. For additional information on sponsorship packages and tickets, please call Cindy Reisman at 572-5101.
