FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE:
NUHEALTH SYSTEM TO HOST “2009 HEROES IN HEALTH GALA” ON THURSDAY, OCTOBER 29, 2009 6:30PM, OHEKA CASTLE
East Meadow, NY….. The Long Island Medical Foundation, the philanthropic arm of NuHealth, (also known as the Nassau Health Care Corporation), announced its annual “2009 Heroes in Health Gala” to be held on Thursday, October 29, 2009 at 6:30 at Oheka Castle in Huntington, New York.
The Foundation’s mission is to inspire philanthropic support by raising awareness of the critical role NuHealth and its institutions (Nassau University Medical Center (NUMC), A. Holly Patterson Extended Care, and a network of Family Health Centers) play in addressing the ever expanding health needs of the region. NuHealth delivers comprehensive innovative health care to tens of thousands of patients each year from all walks of life.
Long Island Medical Foundation Board member, Bradley Gerstman, Esq., a co-founder in GerstmanSchwartz, LLP and Gotham Government Affairs, and his wife, Cheryl Gerstman, are the evening’s dinner chairs. “We are honored to be chairing this year’s event, especially in light of the many important changes and accomplishments that have taken place at NuHealth in 2009.” The Gerstmans will be joined by Martin D. Payson, Chairman of the Foundation and NuHealth System Boards, Arthur A. Gianelli, President & CEO of NuHealth System, John O’Connell, Executive Director of the Foundation, and the rest of the Long Island Medical Foundation board.
This year’s Heroes in Health honorees are Patricia Wang, JD., President & CEO of HealthFirst, and Gilbane, Inc., which will be represented by Neil Heyman. Both were selected because of their belief in and commitment to giving back to the communities they serve. “As philanthropy assumes a greater institutional priority and becomes more ingrained in the culture of NuHealth, we wanted to recognize and honor leadership that both values and demonstrates corporate social responsibility in its many forms,” said Arthur A. Gianelli.
Tickets are $400 per person, with sponsorship packages and advertising opportunities available. To reserve tickets or for additional information, please call Cindy Reisman at 572-5101.
