NUHEALTH FOUNDATION UNVEILS FIRST-EVER DONOR WALL AT NUMC

East Meadow, NY…..The NuHealth Foundation unveiled the first-ever Donor Wall at the Nassau University Medical Center (NUMC), providing a handsome public display of the pride and support NUMC enjoys—from its staff, patients, families and the community at large.  The Donor Wall is adorned with personalized bricks and will serve as a means for employees, friends, patients and families to express their support and gratitude for years to come.

An unveiling was held on Monday December 10th at which NuHealth President/CEO, Arthur A. Gianelli and NuHealth Foundation Executive Director, Deidra Parrish Williams were joined by generous donors who brought the wall to life and who came to see their personalized bricks and share in the excitement of the Wall’s unveiling.

The initial phase of the Foundation’s brick campaign generated over $90,000 raised by 157 donors — employees, families and grateful patients in a prominent display of their appreciation and support for the important work of Nassau University Hospital. Gianelli said: “We are proud of the Foundation’s work and for all the expressions of love articulated in the bricks.”

Major contributors to the Donor Wall are Zaki and Rahat Hossain, Dr. Krishan Kumar, NUMC chief of pediatric emergency medicine, the American Association of Physicians of Indian origin, Queens Long Island Chapter, and Mohammed Saleh, R.PH.

“With help from our donors, the Foundation erected this Donor Wall to make a statement. Strategically located outside of our new state of the art Emergency Department, it’s a symbol of the excitement and innovation ahead of us, and the pride that together, it will take for us to get there. We are looking forward to adding many more bricks to this wall in years to come,” said Parrish Williams

Zaki Hossain, a loyal benefactor and member of the board of the NuHealth Foundation, along with his wife Rahat, joined donors at the unveiling, stating:   “We need to help this hospital continue to improve as it has during the last ten years, with a new emergency department, new burn center and several other modernized locations. My main reason for supporting NUMC is to help makes more changes at this wonderful institution.”
