NUHEALTH FOUNDATION TO HOST “2013 HEROES IN HEALTH GALA” THURSDAY, JUNE 27, 2013 AT OHEKA CASTLE
East Meadow, NY….. The NuHealth Foundation, the philanthropic arm of the NuHealth System, will be hosting its annual “Heroes in Health Gala” on Thursday, June 27, 2013 at Oheka Castle, at 6:00PM, in Huntington, New York.
The Foundation’s mission is to inspire philanthropic support by raising awareness for the critical role the NuHealth System plays on Long Island, delivering quality care through a robust healthcare network that includes Nassau University Medical Center (NUMC), A. Holly Patterson Extended Care, and a network of community-based Family Health Centers.
NuHealth System President/CEO, Art Gianelli says, “There is so much more to the NuHealth story than people may know. We deliver high quality, comprehensive healthcare in a variety of innovative ways to tens of thousands of patients each year, from all walks of life. It is essential that NuHealth, like major health systems in other regions, enjoy the support of its community in order for it to continue to serve its needs.”
Many of NuHealth’s recent innovations and successes will be highlighted at this year’s Heroes in Health gala, including its soon to be completely renovated intensive care units and labor and delivery suites.
NuHealth Foundation executive director, Deidra Parrish Williams, notes that, “Many of these important projects are being made possible because of the support of generous individuals, businesses and others who understand how critical it for NuHealth to thrive.”
This year’s gala honoree will be Roger L. Simpson, MD, MBA, FACS, president of the Long Island Plastic Surgical Group, NuHealth’s chief of plastic and reconstructive surgery and director of the burn center at NUMC, selected because of his belief in and commitment to giving back to the communities he serves. “As philanthropy assumes a greater institutional priority and becomes more ingrained in the culture of the NuHealth System, we wanted to recognize and honor leadership that both values and demonstrates corporate social responsibility in its many forms,” said Gianelli.
Tickets are $500 per person, with sponsorship packages and advertising opportunities available. For additional information on sponsorship packages and tickets, please call Davis Abraham at 516-296-4934. You can also register and pay online at http://nuhealthgala.eventbrite.com.
