NUHEALTH FOUNDATION RECEIVES DONATION OF $100,000 FROM FOUNDATION BOARD MEMBER ZAKI HOSSAIN AND BUSINESS PARTNER JERRY DABEK, TO TRANSFORM MAIN ENTRANCE AT NUMC’S CARMAN AVENUE

East Meadow, NY….Arthur A. Gianelli, President/CEO of the NuHealth System, along with Paul Tonna, chair of the NuHealth Foundation’s board of directors and Deidra Parrish Williams, its executive director, expressed their gratitude at the check presentation for the generous donation of $100,000 to the NuHealth Foundation, for the soon to be reconstructed Carman Avenue entrance at the Nassau University Medical Center.

“Thanks to the philanthropic support of Zaki Hossain, NuHealth Foundation board member and of his business partner, Jerry Dabek, the main entrance to the Nassau University Medical Center will undergo a much needed transformation, providing all staff, patients, and visitors not only a beautiful and inviting entrance but also a public display of the pride and support that NUMC enjoys. This is one of several ongoing efforts designed to ensure excellence in the quality of the experience patients enjoy at NUMC,” stated Gianelli during the check presentation. “We thank these two generous donors as we celebrate their philanthropic support and ongoing commitment to NuHealth. They are making a difference and their support has the potential to generate additional philanthropy to the Foundation.”

Once completed in the next few months, the entrance will include a new glass door, walkway pavers, benches and landscaping, all designed to enhance and beautify Nassau’s essential hospital entrance.

Ms. Parrish Williams also expressed her gratitude: “Your generous donation is very meaningful for us, setting an example that other philanthropists will see and it will signal that donating to the Foundation is a worthwhile investment. We gratefully appreciate your generosity and our Foundation board also extends their thanks and support.”

Paul Tonna, chair of the NuHealth Foundation board, indicated: “We thank you both for your generosity as we will be able to leverage your support in the community to obtain additional philanthropy.”

Messrs. Hossain and Dabek expressed their pleasure at assisting the Foundation with the project: “We are delighted to have been able to help with funding the entryway and will continue to do our best to support the Foundation’s efforts in the years to come.”
