Well-deserved testament to Dr. Hupart’s skills as a top endocrinologist committed to NUMC’s mission of providing patients with the highest quality of care
East Meadow, NY….Kenneth H. Hupart, MD, Chief of Endocrinology, Diabetes and Metabolism at Nassau University Medical Center, is once again honored by inclusion in Best Doctors in America 2009-2010 database. The yearlong process surveyed thousands of physicians for their recommendations.

Dr. Hupart specializes in thyroid disorders, osteoporosis, diabetes and lipid disorders. He joined the faculty of NUMC in March 2003. Besides caring for patients with Endocrine disorders, Dr. Hupart is the program director of the Fellowship Program in Endocrinology, Diabetes and Metabolism. He also chairs NUMC’s Clinical Informatics Committee.
Prior to joining NUMC, Dr. Hupart served as the Medical Director of the Outpatient Department at Montefiore Medical Center in Bronx, NY. He is an Associate Professor of Clinical Medicine at the Albert Einstein College of Medicine.
Dr. Hupart has published original laboratory and clinical research in the field of thyroidology and has also written about medical education. An active member of the Endocrine Society, Dr. Hupart serves on the Publications Committee of this national organization. He is also a member of the American Diabetes Association, the American Association of Clinical Endocrinologists, the American Thyroid Association, and is a Fellow of the American College of Physicians.
Dr. Hupart received his undergraduate degree in Biomedical Engineering at the School of Engineering and Applied Science at Columbia University and was awarded his Doctor of Medicine degree from the State University of New York at Stony Brook in 1982. He completed his training in Internal Medicine at Montefiore Medical Center and then served as Chief Resident in Medicine. Dr. Hupart remained at Montefiore and the Albert Einstein College of Medicine for his training in endocrinology and was appointed to the faculty at the completion of his training.
