Nassau University Medical Center Joins Long Island’s Independent Physician Association  

East Meadow, N.Y., May 12, 2022 – Nassau University Medical Center (NUMC) has joined the Independent Physician Association of New York, Inc. (IPANY). The new partnership provides NUMC physicians with additional practice opportunities and benefits. 

Nassau Health Care Corporation is proud to announce that Nassau University Medical Center has joined the Independent Physician Association of New York, Inc. IPANY is a non-exclusive, not-for-profit physician-led Independent Physician Association (IPA) focused on supporting community-based and independent physicians while they remain on the frontline of healthcare. 

The new partnership between NUMC and IPANY brings advantages to patients and medical professionals alike. For patients, NUMC’s new participation in IPANY means easier access to and better coordination between physician teams across medical institutions. Along these lines, Nassau County residents will also experience the high quality of care and improved patient outcomes resulting from incentives that reward the Hospital and providers’ performance. 

Nassau University Medical Center primary care physicians and specialists gained access through IPANY to benefits including enhanced contracts with payors, clinical care management, and preferred provider status. The partnership further solidifies NUMC’s position as a competitive employer offering attractive clinical, surgical, and research opportunities to physicians, as well as the necessary health infrastructure to provide high-quality care to patients. 

IPANY is one of the fastest growing and largest multi-specialty IPAs in the country with a membership base of more than 2,200 physicians. Governed by a physician-led board, IPANY provides administrative support community hospital-based and independent physicians so they can focus on delivering outstanding health care to Long Island residents.
