East Meadow, New York……Arthur A. Gianelli, President/CEO of the Nassau Health Care Corporation, announced that in honor of National Volunteer Appreciation Week, on Tuesday, April 21, 2009, volunteer services, a division of the Organizational Development Department at the Nassau University Medical Center, will honor its volunteers with an appreciation breakfast. The breakfast, to which over 150 volunteers have been invited, will be hosted in the NUMC Auditorium. Nassau County Legislator, Norma Gonsalves, will speak about the importance of volunteering and will promote the need for residents to do community service at NUMC.
A pin ceremony is also scheduled to honor the volunteers for their outstanding service to the community and the hospital. High school student volunteers will receive double bonus hours for all time served during the week of April 19th.
Gianelli expressed his appreciation to the NUMC volunteers for their dedication: “We are grateful for the time and dedication that you give to the Nassau University Medical Center on a daily basis, as well as the loyalty and friendship shown through your countless hours of devoted service to help the thousands of patients who turn to us for care.”
