NASSAU UNIVERSITY MEDICAL CENTER AND LONG ISLAND VOLUNTEER CENTER ANNOUNCE SEPTEMBER 11TH BLOOD DRIVE AT NUMC

BLOOD DRIVE SCHEDULED TO HONOR MEMORY OF THOSE WHO PERISHED OR WERE INJURED ON SEPTEMBER 11TH, 2001


East Meadow, New York…….The Long Island Volunteer Center and the Nassau University Medical Center will be co-sponsoring a local blood drive to be held on September 11th, from 3pm until 8 pm.     The blood drive will be held at the Nassau University Medical Center, blood donor center located at 2201 Hempstead Turnpike, in East Meadow, New York.

“There is a great need for blood on Long Island.  A blood drive is our way of honoring the memory of those who perished and were injured on September 11, 2001.  The blood donated will be used by the Nassau University Medical Center, a Level I Trauma Center, in the treatment of the patients we serve,” stated Arthur A. Gianelli, President/CEO of the Nassau Health Care Corporation.

The blood drive will take place from 3:00 pm until 8:00 pm at the Blood Donor Center, on the ground floor, at Nassau University Medical Center.  There is a Visitors Parking Lot and parking vouchers will be validated at the Blood Center.  The parking lot is located near the Carman Avenue entrance to the medical center.  Participants should enter the building through the main hospital entrance on Carman Avenue.  All blood donors must present valid photo identification at the time of donation.
