MYRON ZITT, MD, FACAAI, DIRECTOR OF ADULT ALLERGY PRACTICE AT NUMC, PRESENTED WITH DISTINGUISHED FELLOW AWARD BY AMERICAN COLLEGE OF ALLERGY, ASTHMA AND IMMUNOLOGY
East Meadow, NY…….Myron Zitt, MD, FACAAI, former president of the American College of Allergy, Asthma and Immunology (ACAAI) and an attending physician in the department of medicine at the Nassau University Medical Center as well as its director of the adult allergy practice, has been presented with the Distinguished Fellow Award by the ACAAI. The award presentation took place at the 2012 annual meeting of the ACAAI in November in California, in recognition of his outstanding contributions and commitment in the United States or Canada on behalf of the specialty of allergy.
Dr. Zitt is associate professor of clinical medicine at the State University Of New York at Stony Brook and in private practice in Plainview and Babylon. He was ACAAI president during 2004 and 2005 and continues to be active with the College, currently serving as vice chair of the International committee, vice chair of the public relations committee and a member of the past presidents committee. In addition, he was past president of the long Island Allergy and Asthma Society and remains active, currently serving on its executive committee.
“I am honored and humbled to have been selected by the ACAAI to receive this prestigious award Distinguished Fellow Award and look forward to working with the organization’s team to further the ACAAI goals of excellence in the treatment of asthma, allergy and immunology on behalf of all our patients,” stated to Dr. Zitt upon receiving his award.
