MYRON ZITT, MD, DIRECTOR, ADULT ALLERGY PRACTICE AT NUMC, INVITED TO LECTURE AT THE 2011 ANNUAL MEETING OF THE AMERICAN COLLEGE OF ALLERGY, ASTHMA AND IMMUNOLOGY
East Meadow, NY… Myron Zitt, MD, director, adult allergy practice at the Nassau University Medical Center, has been invited to lecture at the 2011 Annual Meeting of the American College of Allergy, Asthma and Immunology (ACAAI) on November 4-6, 2011 in Boston, MA. The meeting will offer an exciting array of educational sessions for physicians, allied health professionals and office managers. Dr. Zitt was honored to give the keynote “Bela Schick” lecture at last year’s annual meeting.
Dr. Zitt is past president of the American College of Allergy Asthma and Immunology, 2004-2005, and still chairs several of their committees. Dr. Zitt was chosen as an ACAAI diplomatic representative and guest speaker at the 2011 Annual Peruvian Allergy and Immunology society meeting.
The theme for this 69th ACAAI Annual Meeting is Proud of our Past – Preparing for our Future. The program committee selected this title because this year is the centennial anniversary of immunotherapy, and the tools to evolve into the future are needed.
Dr. Zitt currently serves on the board of directors of the World Allergy Organization and just returned from Moscow where he was invited to give several lectures at the VI World Congress of Immunopathology and Respiratory Allergy and the V Russian Congress of Immunology. Dr. Zitt will also be speaking at the upcoming World Allergy Congress in December.
He has served for the past 10 years on the board of directors of the Asthma and Allergy Foundation of America, a non-profit organization with a mission of patient advocacy and education as well as the support of research in the field of asthma and allergy. AAFA’s recently assembled task force on anaphylaxis, on which Zitt serves, should have a significant impact on how we view, diagnose and manage anaphylaxis in coming years.
