Message from Victor F. Politi, MD, FACP, FACEP, NuHealth’s President/CEO

East Meadow, NY………..Please join me and Michael B. Mirotznik, Chairman of the Board of Directors, in congratulating Victor Scarmato, MD, Chair of Radiology, upon accepting the position of NuHealth’s Acting Chief Medical Officer, following the resignation of Dr. Steven Walerstein. We wish Dr. Walerstein the best of luck in his future endeavors and thank him for his dedicated service.

Dr. Scarmato, who will continue in his role as leader of the radiology department in addition to his responsibilities as acting CMO, will play a vital role in advancing our mission at this time of great transformation in the health care industry. His vast clinical and managerial experience will be an asset as a member of NuHealth’s administration to help ensure that our system is sustainable for the long term, with a real commitment to safety, high quality and life saving care.

Dr. Victor J. Scarmato graduated with a B.S. in biology from SUNY Binghamton. After graduating from the Georgetown University School of Medicine in Washington, D.C., he completed his residency training in radiology at North Shore University Hospital in Manhasset, NY. Dr. Scarmato began his career at North Shore University Hospital, where he was the physician in charge of gastrointestinal radiology.
