East Meadow, NY….Under the leadership of Dr. Victor F. Politi, NuHealth/NUMC’s President/CEO, a new high-tech system has been installed in the cardiology department of the Nassau University Medical Center.  The new catheterization equipment replaces outdated equipment with the industry’s latest technology and will improve the department’s capabilities for performing cardiac catheterization procedures.

This advanced catheterization lab system is produced by GE Healthcare and features a biplane image-guided system for cardiovascular procedures.  This system offers excellent visualization of the heart and its chambers and will allow the NUMC department of cardiology, under the leadership of Dr. Amgad Makaryus, to expand its clinical versatility to successfully plan, guide, and assess increasingly sophisticated procedures with greater precision and dose efficiency for the cardiac patients of Nassau University Medical Center.

The lab was also updated with new finishes and furnishings to provide a modern and comfortable environment for our patients.  NUMC is proud to offer the newest technology in a warm and healing environment.
