FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE:

MEDIA ADVISORY

WHAT:   Opening of a 29-station hemodialysis unit at the A. Holly Patterson Extended   Care Facility site. In addition, both hemodialysis and peritoneal dialysis   services will be offered on an outpatient basis.  The unit will have the   capacity to provide 696 treatments per week, for a total of 232 patients,   six days a week, Monday to Saturday, each patient three times a week, from   5:45AM to midnight.

WHO:  Arthur A. Gianelli, President/CEO
  Nassau Health Care Corporation

WHEN:    Wednesday, September 9th 2009 – noon

WHERE:   A. Holly Patterson Extended Care Facility
875 Jerusalem Avenue – Third Floor
  Uniondale, New York

WHY:  Relocating a 14 station unit previously located at the Nassau University    Medical Center into a modern, state-of-the-art and expanded to a 29 station    unit with all brand new equipment and a most sophisticated reverse osmosis    system for water purification is another step in modernizing NHCC to better    serve our community.  It is anticipated that the renovated unit at AHP will    be a temporary site, pending our development partner building a new dialysis   center on the AHP campus in a few years.  Experienced and knowledgeable    staff currently operating the NUMC dialysis unit will be relocated along    with patients to the new AHP dialysis unit for continuity of care.
