MARIANNE FRIERI, MD, PHD, FACAAI, FAAAAI, CHIEF OF ALLERGY AND IMMUNOLOGY AT NUMC, INVITED TO LECTURE AT ALBANY MEDICAL COLLEGE’S CME CONFERENCE ON ALLERGIES, ASTHMA AND SINUSITIS

East Meadow, NY….In an effort to increase awareness about the asthma epidemic, co-morbidities and to get asthma under control in communities throughout the region, Marianne Frieri, MD, PhD, FACAAI, FAAAAI, chief of allergy and immunology at the Nassau University Medical Center, will discuss the benefits of treating allergic rhinitis, asthma, drug allergies and the medications that help patients better manage their chronic illness. Dr. Frieri has been invited, as a guest speaker again, at the Albany Medical College’s 18th Annual Allergy Immunology Continuing Medical Education Update in Saratoga ,  NY. The CME will take place on August 1, 2012 and Dr. Frieri’s lectures will cover “Update on Allergic Rhinitis and Immunotherapy, Drug Allergy and Ask the Professors”.

The major themes of the allergy and immunology field, food allergies, urticaria and angioedema, allergic rhinitis, sinusitis, drug allergy and asthma will be presented by outstanding local and guest faculty. This year, the goal of the conference will be mainly clinical and seeks to first and foremost provide the necessary tools to each attendee to understand the pathophysiology and initial management of those common allergic/immunologic conditions. A one hour session at the end of the presentations, will give ample time to the attendees to ask questions to the faculty and even discuss interesting cases they may have encountered in their practice. During her lectures, Dr. Frieri will discuss the benefits of treating allergic rhinitis, other asthma co-morbidities, quality of life and drug allergies. She will also have the opportunity to discuss asthma and asthma medications that help patients better manage their chronic disease.

“I am honored to have been invited to speak at this very prestigious meeting for clinicians and health care staff. Albany Medical Center is an academic medical center in the region, committed to provide the highest level of patient care, education and biomedical research, within the state of New York. Asthma affects almost 25 million persons of all ages and races in the United States, with public awareness of common asthma triggers and effective asthma management strategies still remaining limited. I look forward to discussing the clinically relevant developments in my field in helping to manage patients with allergies, sinusitis, asthma, and drug allergy” indicated Dr. Frieri.
