LYN D. WEISS, MD, CHAIR OF PHYSICAL MEDICINE AND
REHABILITATION AT NUMC AUTHORS SEVENTH BOOK “PHYSICAL MEDICINE AND REHABILITATION Q&A REVIEW”
East Meadow, NY … Lyn D. Weiss, MD, chair of physical medicine and rehabilitation (PM&R) department at the Nassau University Medical Center (NUMC) has co-authored her seventh medical book, with contributions from many NUMC staff members. This latest one is entitled ” Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation Questions and Answers Review”, in collaboration with Jay M. Weiss, MD a voluntary attending physiatrist and Harry J. Lenaburg, MD, chief resident in the department of PM&R at NUMC.
This latest book is a comprehensive, active self-assessment tool for medical students, residents, and junior attending physicians in physical medicine and rehabilitation. The first question-and-answer review book in this field, it will help professionals quickly and efficiently review specific topics in PM&R. The book covers in detail the entire field of physical medicine and rehabilitation with more than 1,500 multiple-choice questions with answers and detailed rationales. Broken into 15 topic areas, it highlights all of the key concepts in the PM&R curriculum for learning and individual self-assessment. Designed to test recall and sharpen skills, the book addresses the fundamental components of PM&R training and practice. Lists of suggested readings are provided at the end of each section for further study if desired. The book will be available in an electronic and mobile app version as well.
“The authors have been privileged to work for and with many talented individuals, mostly the department of PM&R. We are extremely grateful to have the support and encouragement of our Medical Director, Steven J. walerstein, MD, FACP, and our CEO at the Nassau University Medical Center, Arthur A. Gianelli, who have been role models in the practice of medicine and administration. They always put patient care first and strive to provide the best care possible. We have given better care to our patients because of them, and for that we are appreciative,” Weiss stated.
Lyn D. Weiss, MD, is a 1985 graduate of SUNY Downstate Medical Center School of Medicine and is board certified in both physical medicine and rehabilitation and electrodiagnostic medicine. She served both her internship and her residency at Nassau University Medical Center and has been chairman of the department since 1994.
