MEDICAL TEAM TO REPORT PATIENT’S CONDITION
TODAY AT PRESS CONFERENCE AT NUMC
EAST MEADOW, NY – Louis Riina, MD, associate director of the burn center at the Nassau University Medical Center will join with clinical staff from NUMC, after saving the life of a local volunteer firefighter suffering from ”Necrotizing Fasciitis,” a rare, life-threatening, flesh-eating bacteria, in a press conference on Friday, September 28, 2012 at 12 pm at Nassau University Medical Center, 2201 Hempstead Turnpike in East Meadow, NY. Dr. Riina and the medical team will issue a full report on Ralph Lettieri’s condition before his discharge today, after a two month stay at NUMC. The patient will be speaking out after the rare and dangerous bacteria began eating away at him in mid-July.
