EAST MEADOW, NY… Arthur A. Gianelli, President/CEO of the Nassau Health Care Corporation announced that Laura Kyrillidis, RN, MA, director of perinatal and pediatric services at the Nassau University Medical Center has been re-elected to chair the Advisory Board of Nassau County Perinatal Services Network.
“I am delighted to congratulate Laura Kyrillidis on her impressive accomplishment of being elected to chair the Advisory Board of the Nassau County Perinatal Services Network. I am confident that Ms. Kyrillidis and her board will succeed in their agenda of decreasing infant mortality, improving birth outcomes and increasing access to healthcare for pregnant woman,” said Gianelli.
“In addition, the board’s goal is to increase access to other critical services for pregnant women and linking them to needed services in order to build healthier communities.”
The Nassau University Medical Center, is a level III maternity service and neonatal intensive care unit, providing special services for high risk expectant mothers, genetic counseling and testing, fetal diagnosis and therapy, three dimensional sonography, as well as first trimester diagnosis of fetal anomalies and gestational diabetic testing. In addition NUMC is the only hospital on Long Island that can accommodate water births in a birthing tub.
The NUMC maternity department is equipped and staffed to provide the perfect level of support for any delivery. Families expecting an uncomplicated birth can take advantage of our midwifery services and comfortable state-of-the-art combined labor/birthing rooms.
