LAURA KYRILLIDIS, RN, MA, DIRECTOR OF PERINATAL AND
PEDIATRIC SERVICES AT NUMC, ELECTED TO CHAIR ADVISORY BOARD OF NASSAU COUNTY PERINATAL SERVICES NETWORK

East Meadow, NY….Arthur A. Gianelli, President/CEO of the Nassau Health Care Corporation announced that Laura Kyrillidis, RN, MA, Director of Perinatal and Pediatric Services at the Nassau University Medical Center, has been elected to chair the Advisory Board of Nassau County Perinatal Services Network.

“I am delighted to congratulate Laura Kyrillidis on her impressive accomplishment of being elected to chair the Advisory Board of the Nassau County Perinatal Services Network.  I am confident that Ms. Kyrillidis and her board will succeed in their agenda of decreasing infant mortality, improving birth outcomes and increasing access to healthcare for pregnant women,” said Mr. Gianelli.

“In addition, the board’s goal is to increase access to other critical services for pregnant women and linking them to needed services in order to build healthier communities.”

Ms. Kyrillidis is a seasoned nursing professional with 32 years of experience, specializing both in perinatal and pediatrics services as well as having held advanced administrative positions. The Nassau University Medical Center, a designated regional perinatal center, provides special services for high risk expectant mothers, genetic counseling and testing, fetal diagnosis and therapy, three dimensional sonography, as well as first trimester diagnosis of fetal anomalies and gestational diabetic testing.

The NUMC Level I maternity department is equipped and staffed to provide the perfect level of support for any delivery.  Families expecting an uncomplicated birth can take advantage of our midwifery services, the only water birthing facility on Long Island and comfortable state-of-the-art combined labor/birthing rooms.  Families needing higher level of medical support will be reassured by 24-hour on-premises board certified specialists and Long Island’s premier neonatal intensive care unit.
