East Meadow, NY….The Syosset day chapter of the Homemakers Council of Nassau County, under the leadership of Clementine Bianco, co-president, sponsored a baby shower to benefit the expectant mothers at Nassau University Medical Center. The 42 members of the organization collected, purchased or knitted baby blankets, hats, sweaters and all types of baby clothing for NUMC’s expectant mothers to take home with their newborn babies.
Arthur A. Gianelli, President/CEO of the Nassau Health Care Corporation, expressed his gratitude to the members of the Homemakers Council and said: “This is a very generous donation by the women involved in the Homemakers Council, clearly lifting the spirits of all those expectant mothers receiving the baby gifts.”
Mrs. Bianco, who, in addition to being co-president of the Syosset chapter of the Homemakers council, is also president of the Nassau University Medical Center Auxiliary, was delighted to present the gifts to the maternity unit at NUMC: “Our members take pride in purchasing and knitting clothing for NUMC’s babies on a regular basis and are glad that families will be benefiting from these gifts. We have been providing these baby showers every year and look forward to continuing this tradition.”
