GIANELLI TO SPEAK AT THE NATIONAL ASSOCIATION OF PUBLIC HOSPITALS 30TH ANNUAL NATIONAL CONFERENCE ON HEALTH REFORM IMPLEMENTATION STRATEGIES
East Meadow, NY… Arthur A. Gianelli, President/CEO of the NuHealth System, has been invited to speak at this year’s National Association of Public Hospitals (NAPH) 30th Annual National Conference. Gianelli will speak during the plenary session entitled, “Safety Net Leaders Discuss Reform Implementation Strategies”. Gianelli will also be participating in a panel with two additional NAPH members to discuss transforming your system in the context of national and state reform. The conference will be held during the week of June 20, 2011 at the Westin River North Hotel in Chicago, Illinois.
This interactive learning experience will equip senior executives with strategies and tools to successfully transition to integrated systems of care, designed to provide more efficient care and more effectively meet the needs of underserved patients. Those in attendance can learn how system integration can help to improve access to care, reduce hospital readmissions, improve patient satisfaction, reduce the reliance on emergency departments, and reduce health care disparities, while helping the organization maintain or improve market position.
“I am honored to have been invited to speak at the National Public Hospitals Annual Conference and look forward to discussing health care reform implementation strategies, especially of great importance to public institutions in furthering their missions of providing quality health care to vulnerable populations,” stated Gianelli. “As the reality of health care reform begins to transform care delivery, NAPH members are taking bold steps to implement change. Safety net hospitals and health systems will become or continue to be innovators – helping communities change care delivery for the millions of patients who will be newly covered in the next several years.”
Since the establishment of the first public hospital in the United States in the early 1700s, safety net hospitals and health systems have been an essential part of our nation’s health care delivery system. The NAPH vision is simple—to preserve and protect those hospitals that serve as the foundation of a strong, vibrant health care system that is open to all in our society. Safety net hospitals and health systems strengthen the health of our nation’s communities. NAPH is a major resource to support the efforts of our members to fulfill that role and mission by delivering high-quality health care services.
Arthur A. Gianelli is the President and Chief Executive Officer of the NuHealth System (also called the Nassau Health Care Corporation), a $545 million teaching facility and public safety net provider which operates the Nassau University Medical Center and the A.
