GIANELLI APPOINTS ROBERT S. HEATLEY AS NUHEALTH SYSTEM’S EXECUTIVE VICE PRESIDENT FOR BUSINESS DEVELOPMENT AND AMBULATORY SERVICES
SEASONED PROFESSIONAL WITH TWENTY YEARS EXPERIENCE IN HEALTHCARE CONSULTING
East Meadow, NY… Arthur A. Gianelli, President/CEO of the NuHealth System, announced the appointment of Robert S. Heatley as executive vice president for business development and ambulatory services. In this position, Heatley will be responsible for overseeing and integrating new ambulatory services, outreach to community physicians and strengthening managed care relationships with governmental and private payers. In addition, he will be working with inpatient clinical departments to develop business plans for creating new and/or expanding services, including grants.
“I am pleased to appoint Robert S. Heatley, already a well respected member of our leadership team who is an industry leader, experienced with mobilizing, developing and leading organizational development and management teams. He comes to the NuHealth System with decades of experience in healthcare consulting, having worked for some of the best firms in the nation. His intellect, demeanor and integrity are exemplary,” stated Gianelli. “He will be an asset in improving operational efficiency of our ambulatory care program while integrating the delivery system as we prepare for health reform.”
Heatley is a results and relationship driven senior health care executive with twenty-five year international market, strategic planning, business development and change managements history, and has a proven reputation for securing and leading consulting engagements with hospital systems, academic medical centers, teaching and community hospitals, national nursing home companies and assisted-living organizations
Heatley graduated from The State University of New York with a Bachelor of Arts degree and a Master of Arts degree. Prior to this new appointment, Heatley served as senior vice president of business development at the NuHealth System from September 2009 until the start of this new position in November 2010. He previously worked at Alvarez & Marsal, Inc, a health care consulting firm, as senior director from 2008 till September 2009, where he consulted with hospital executives, conducted performance risk analyses, and operations-improvement initiatives to maximize hospital financial and operational performance. From 2004-2007 Heatley was a managing director for Navigant Consulting, Inc., where he conducted risk assessments, highlighted operations improvement opportunities, oversaw interim management consultant teams, implemented operational enhancements, and achieved industry-benchmark hospital performance levels. From 2000-2003 Heatley served as a principal consultant at CAP Gemini Ernst & Young, developing/fostering high-profile nursing home chain and hospital executive relationships. For a ten year period, from 1990 until 2000, Heatley was a principal in the firm Ernst & Young in New York, where he worked with health care clients to identify their needs and develop engagements to address those needs.
“I am excited to join the senior leadership team at the NuHealth System and look forward to working with Art Gianelli and his team at this point in time, when opportunities under health reform present dynamic opportunities to further the NuHealth mission,” said Heatley.
