FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE:

East Meadow, NY……Arthur A. Gianelli, President/CEO of the Nassau Health Care Corporation, announced the appointment of James D. Senterfitt, a former chief executive of managed care firms and physician practices throughout the United States, as Vice President for Outpatient Services, Network Development and Managed Care. In this position, Senterfitt will be responsible for overseeing and integrating new facilities for ambulatory services, outreach to community physicians, strengthening managed care relationships with governmental and private payers and reaching out to community physicians to enhance NHCC’s position as a key community resource.

“I am pleased to welcome Jim Senterfitt, a seasoned professional with an impressive executive management background in medical group practice, managed care and ambulatory services programs of major health systems, who has worked within the health care industry for both hospital systems, large medical group practices and health plans, to our executive team where he will be an asset in improving operational efficiency of our ambulatory programs while integrating the delivery system and bringing together programs such as NuCare and our Institute for Healthcare Disparities, as we continue preparing for our new ambulatory services facilities,” said Gianelli.

Jim Senterfitt comes to NHCC with an extensive executive management background in medical group practice, managed care and ambulatory care programs of major health systems. With over thirty years experience from his native Florida, before migrating to New England and the NYC metro area, to recent work nationally, Senterfitt brings a unique perspective to bear with his passion for innovative heath care delivery and financing.

Mr. Senterfitt previously served in an executive capacity, helping direct the growth and development of large health system sponsored multi specialty group practice, managed care organizations and ambulatory services programs in Massachusetts, Connecticut and New York where he served as a board member for each state’s HMO association. Senterfitt also founded and led a group practice management and health care consulting firm with clients ranging from the metro NY area to Nashville, TN, national hospital organizations.

Most recently, Mr. Senterfitt has worked in an interim executive and consulting capacity with several leading integrated health care organizations including the St. Louis, MO based Sisters of Mercy St. John’s Health System and the Billings Clinic in Montana, and for an Aetna subsidiary Schaller/Anderson building national provider networks to serve new programs for the uninsured.

Senterfitt credits his career development to a deeply held appreciation of the health care delivery system gained during his early career at the University of Florida Shands Medical Center where he trained and worked as an emergency room trauma registered nurse. It was also there that Senterfitt went into health care business management and development with physicians and bio engineers pioneering the use of mobile CT Scanning and work place healthcare.

On his recent appointment Senterfitt commented: “I am honored to be joining the management team at NHCC and their current efforts in developing the organization’s full potential. Nassau University Medical Center, A. Holly Paterson and the Community Health Centers throughout Nassau County comprise an outstanding health care delivery system. With its longstanding commitment to public health and innovative new programs. NHCC is ideally suited to shape the health care and financing systems of the future and continue its mission of providing quality health care and value to Nassau County residents.”

Mr. Senterfitt resides in Port Washington with his family.
