BRUDERMAN ANNOUNCES NEW EMPLOYEE RECOGNITION PROGRAM
FOR NASSAU UNIVERSITY MEDICAL CENTER AND NASSAU HEALTH CARE CORPORATION STAFF

NUMC Chairman to Give Outstanding Employees Parking Spot and Host Them at
His Personal UBS Arena Suite

EAST MEADOW, NY – – The dedicated staff members at Long Island’s only trauma center will finally be getting the recognition they deserve. Nassau Health Care Corporation Chairman Matthew Bruderman has announced the establishment of a new monthly Exceptional Service Award program for staff at Nassau University Medical Center and other NHCC facilities.

Bruderman will be converting the parking spot previously reserved for the NHCC Chairman to one dedicated for the award recipient. In addition to a certificate, public recognition and the parking spot, Bruderman will host award recipients at an event in his personal, 24-person suite at UBS Arena.

“A hospital is only as good as its people and NUMC has some of the most dedicated staff members in medicine who routinely go above and beyond to provide quality healthcare to our patients,” said NUMC Chairman Matthew Bruderman.

“It’s ridiculous to give a parking spot to the chairman of the board when it’s our thousands of employees who make this place work and save lives every day,” said Bruderman. “Our focus should be on incentivizing and celebrating our employees, not on executive perks,” continued Bruderman, who has been critical of previous administrations’ prioritizing expenditures for new executive offices, over improving patient and employee facilities. “They work on their feet all day and the least I can do to say ‘thank you’ is give someone an easy walk for a month.”

Bruderman is exploring other employee recognition programs including scholarships to aid in continuing education for workers.

“This new employee recognition program is so important for morale, and I thank Chairman Bruderman for his leadership in making this program a reality. As Long Island’s only trauma center, our staff at NUMC handle some of the most serious health care challenges imaginable,” stated NUMC CEO Dr. Anthony Boutin. “They performed magnificently throughout the pandemic as well. Every day they demonstrate exceptional dedication and compassion for our community.”

Employees must have at least one year of service at NHCC to be nominated. A committee of staff members from different departments will review all applications. Criteria for eligible employees include those who respect the dignity and individualism of all people; exhibit a strong commitment to service with compassion, dedication, and integrity; serving as a role model for others; promoting a pleasant working experience; and striving for excellence in all areas of their work.

The first Exceptional Service Award is anticipated to be presented in July.
