EBOLA UPDATE FOR NUMC HEALTH CARE WORKERS SET BY FEDERAL GOVERNMENT (TODAY)

 

 

East Meadow, N.Y. (October 20, 2014) -Nassau University Medical Center President and CEO, Dr. Victor F. Politi, MD, FACP, FACEP, and infectious disease experts will be holding a news conference today Monday, October 20, 2014 at 11am  to discuss the new guidelines for the treatment of Ebola expected to be issued Monday by the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention will require hospitals and healthcare workers to be completely covered up when treating patients for the virus and be monitored while donning and removing protective garb.

These new guidelines are response to two nurses at a Dallas hospital becoming infected with Ebola after treating Thomas Eric Duncan, who became the first person in the United States to die of the virus Oct. 8. 

 

The press conference  will take place Today,  Monday, October 20, 2014 at 11am at Nassau University Medical Center 19th floor at 2201 Hempstead Turnpike in East Meadow, NY.
